This book presents simple yet powerful insights about the Human Gut Microbiome and how recalibrating your Metabolism is possible through non-back breaking, fancy or largely unsustainable diet routines. It also brings to attention the ability of our Gut-Brain connection that translates into sound health, calm mind and a relaxed soul.
Does your gut truly have a bearing on your health and weight?
Can a Happy Gut actually save you the tides and tribulations of years of yo-yo dieting and allow you to enjoy a healthy weight?
Our processed diet coupled with a “highly evolved” increasingly digitalised lifestyle may have a direct bearing on disrupting our Metabolism, our weight regulator. Tackling obesity then, is not just a “calories in – calories out” matter. Instead, it demands a “whole person”, integrated approach.
Within the pages of this book, you will find amazing information that has the potential to help you achieve and maintain your healthy weight, through simple lifestyle routines, which incorporate all facets of diet, exercise and stress management.
Hear all this from someone who has cut, stitched, healed and studied the human gut for over two decades. In this book, Dr Arun Dhir, a highly regarded Gastro Intestinal and Bariatric Surgeon, blends cutting edge science on gut health and it’s association with obesity. He crafts this information in a “tasteful and easily digestible” evidenced based format, which can be put into practice almost immediately.
Dr Arun Dhir is a specialist upper gastro intestinal and weight loss surgeon. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College Of Surgeons (FRACS) and also of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.
Dr Arun works in the public hospital system in Melbourne, where he is involved in supervising trainees and fellows. He also runs a busy private practice and is passionate about teaching. He holds an academic appointment with Monash university. Dr Arun is an active member of the ANZ Association of Gastro Oesophageal surgeons (ANZGOSA) and ANZ Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS).

He is a registered Yoga teacher with Yoga Australia and also an active member with ACNEM. He has a series of 37 videos uploaded to YouTube promoting healthy living and weight loss.
Dr Dhir’s approach in the space of obesity management coupled with a “whole” person approach that he incorporates is rather unique. It sets him apart as a mainstream medical practitioner (surgeon) who blends this information to provide the necessary inspiration to craft his message for anyone struggling with obesity in its various shades.
He has written a book, being published by Balboa Press, a self-publishing company focused on self-help books with a positive message. The book is entitled “Happy Gut, Healthy Weight” and talks about the science of gut health and gut microbiome in maintaining our healthy weight. The book’s subtitle “Discover how a Happy Gut holds the key to helping you achieve and maintain your healthy weight” summarises the central theme of this work.
